Participation of Słupsk in European competition for “MAIN PRIZE OF THE EUROPEAN COUNCIL”

  • In 1993 the city of Słupsk received “Honorary Diploma of the European Council”

  • In 1994 the city of Słupsk received “Honorary Flag of the European Council”

  • In 1997 the city of Słupsk received “Honorary Plaque of the European Council”

Under cooperation of the twin cities a wide range of bonding activities for citizens take place, resulting in sharing knowledge, overcoming barriers and prejudices, establishing new relations and strengthening of those already existing. This is how we implement the motto
”United in diversity.”

The wide scope of activities encompasses participation in youth exchange, mutual cultural activities (theatre shows, artistic plein-airs, concerts), sports events, improvement of qualifications of volunteers, apprentices, trainees and employees, as well as mutual projects.

The meetings and debates in a still widening scope were organized by common citizens and Słupsk representatives active in many hobby groups. The standard procedure is that the municipal authorities regularly (as was the case in 2007) meet with the representatives of Carlisle, Flensburg, Archangielsk, Vantaa.
